Verification of the UniAccess Product Keys
use the Manufacture Control Number
(MCN, a.k.a. serial number) on systems that support the Software
Controlled Performance (SCF) feature of the EXEC. UniAccess product
key verification uses the dynamic configuration parameter
PDB_MFG_CONTROL_NUMBER to obtain the MCN.
The name of
the dynamic configuration parameter, which returns the MCN, varies
on systems running EXEC level 46R4, 46R5, or 46R6 depending upon the
changes that have been applied to the EXEC.
Note:
This document does not apply to systems that do not
support SCP (i.e., older machines such as the 2200/500).
- EXEC level 46R6 returns the
MCN via the dynamic configuration parameter
PDB_MFG_CONTROL_NUMBER unless change 00006 75442 PCR has been
applied. If the PCR has been applied, the EXEC returns the MCN
via the dynamic configuration parameter PDB_MODEL_CABINET_NUMBER.
- EXEC level 46R4 and 46R5
return the MCN via the dynamic configuration parameter
PDB_MODEL_CABINET_NUMBER. If change 00006 74845 PCR (but not
00006 75442 PCR) is applied to the system, the EXEC will return
the MCN via the dynamic configuration parameter
PDB_MFG_CONTROL_NUMBER. If both PCR 00006 74845 and PCR 00006
75442 PCR are applied to the system, the EXEC returns the MCN
via the dynamic configuration parameter PDB_MODEL_CABINET_NUMBER.
The resolution to PLE 17809229 calls for applying changes 74845 and
75442 to EXEC levels 46R4 and 46R5, and change 75442 to EXEC level
46R6. Change 75422 corrects a warning message issued by SOLAR.
Sites wishing to run UniAccess on systems that support the SCP feature
running EXEC level 46R6 should not install change 00006 75442 PCR.
Sites wishing to run UniAccess on
systems that support the SCP feature running EXEC levels 46R4, or
46R5 should install change 00006 74845 PCR, but not 00006 75442 PCR.
