Applied Information Sciences Forms Compliance Solutions Group;Subsidiary Will Focus on Delivering Content Management Solutions That Help Organizations Meet Their Legal And Regulatory Compliance Needs

Reston, VA - February, 9 2005 Applied Information Sciences, Inc. (AIS) has formed Compliance Solutions Group (CSG), a subsidiary that specializes in helping organizations leverage their investments in Microsoft technologies when implementing document, records, and business process management solutions to address legal and regulatory compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, SEC and NASD regulations for financial services businesses, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and the Federal Records Act.

By forming Compliance Solutions Group with industry leader and co-founder, Russell Stalters, AIS intends to address the interest in RM and compliance-based solutions that have grown as corporate scandals have rocked the public's faith in major corporations. One response has been legislation such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which puts a new focus on corporate accountability. Also, governments all over the world are passing legislation to allow or even require the submission of electronic records to reduce paperwork, open up services to their citizens, and improve the efficiency of internal processes.

"We are excited about the opportunity to expand our set of offerings for clients to address this growing need for regulatory compliance and effective management of content." said Fred Elleman, president of AIS. "Russ and his staff provide the requisite analytical expertise and domain knowledge to make a compliance solution viable."

"By leveraging the rich heritage of AIS and our leadership in systems and software engineering combined with technical excellence we can create solutions that will dramatically reduce the cost of regulatory compliance and legal discovery." stated Tom O'Connell, Executive Vice President of AIS.
