GEICO honored Applied Information Sciences (AIS) with its Partnership Excellence Award at the May 3rd Awards Breakfast in Macon, Georgia. "The award stems from work we did for GEICO in rewriting their Glass Claims System," said Tom O'Connell, EVP for AIS. Essentially, AIS teamed with GEICO to re-write an application that GEICO had already started but not fully deployed. "Work started in February 2005 and was partially completed and online by July 2005. The remainder of the application went live in November 2005", explained Rick Mosca, Eastern Region Operations Manager for AIS.
"Our engagement began with a detailed analysis of the existing artifacts" commented AIS Lead Architect, Pete Brown, "and ended with AIS creating the majority of the code." AIS worked with a dedicated GEICO glass team that shared the long hours and aggressive schedule for completion and deployment.
