AIS is currently seeking a Cleared Infrastructure Security Engineer to support the Federal Practice! We're seeking a technical professional who is passionate about security engineering and providing infrastructure support as a true consultant. An active DOD Clearance is required along with the ability to commute to various client sites throughout the DC metro area including downtown DC and obtain a DoD 8570 IAT II Certification.

Help Us Deliver Successful Projects!

  • The ideal candidate will draw on previous system administration experience to assist with the core infrastructure for both internal projects and external projects for our clients.
  • Collaborate with members of the development team and project managers to deliver solutions that surpass client expectations.
  • Use knowledge of Directory Services, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, Relational Databases, E-mail, DNS, LAN/WAN Networking, and administration, configuration, and installation of security tools to complete a variety of projects.
  • Utilize consulting and documentation skills to successfully complete project-based work.
  • Utilize basic knowledge of Scripting PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Assist with documentation to ensure they can be continued into the future.
  • Maintain a DoD Secret security clearance in order to gain access to client sites and networks.
  • Be open to commuting in and around the DC Metro area in order to be present at client sites for work.

Profile of Success:

  • Utilize Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology/Security
  • 3-5 years of experience in systems/security engineering to design platforms to support developers is ideal but a degree and desire to learn may serve as a substitute for the right candidate.
  • Use knowledge of servers, PC's, and networks to ensure the environment is secure/hardened.
  • Utilize professional knowledge of running ACAS scans and reports (Tenable Security Center and Nessus) and installing, configuring, and generating reports from the DISA SCAP Tool.
  • Utilize knowledge on DISA STIGs and in-depth experience with networks, systems, and client-facing skills to create innovative business solutions
  • The desire to gain or use extra-curricular certifications as part of ongoing professional growth.

Other Desirable Skills:

  • Current CompTIA Security+ CE or GSEC Certification preferred or the ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ CE or GSEC Certification within 30 days of employment required.
  • Basic knowledge of Bash Shell Scripting and desired State Configurations (Windows and Linux).
  • DevOps Experience.
  • Previous DoD Security Background

Client Site Locations: DC Metro Area (Downtown DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia)
