With a small team and in short time frame AIS was able to deliver its client, NGP VAN, a solution called “Action Relay” -- A deceptively simple, Azure-based application with the potential to bridge the gap between the entire line of NGP and VAN products. Using Cloud-based, instance by instance determination and Azure queuing, Action Relay does exactly what its name implies. When a user makes a change in one instance, it relays the data change to other instances – bridging the gap between all those data islands.
AIS Delivers a Singular Web Interface for the National Football League Players Association, Inc. (NFLPA)
AIS has had the privilege of working with the NFLPA previously, developing and implementing a new player management system for its members. The NFLPA was so impressed with our service, expertise and delivery that we were contracted to work on a new project with them, developing a complete interactive cross-platform website equipped to maintain and manage active engagement with former NFL players, active players and business partners.
Our client wanted to understand how their recent social and collaboration investments were being utilized compared to the past. They wanted to encourage knowledge sharing within the company and also discover insights that could lead to even better knowledge sharing. Since they fundamentally lacked a BI solution, the client relied on manual reports from various disconnected data sources and systems.
Internet of Things (IOT): Optimization Solution Heads to the Cloud for a Large Machine Tooling Company
Our customer, a large machine-tooling company, had a machine optimization software solution that they wanted to re-platform in a lower-cost, more scalable and flexible way. AIS built an Azure-based solution utilizing PaaS Services. PaaS Services provide a low-touch-point hosting environment with a set of constantly evolving services that bring additional value to the solution…with little to no incremental development costs. During a four-week engagement, the Azure IoT suite was used to improve upon the recommendations and capabilities of their current solution.
After TEGNA and Gannett decided to spin off into two separate companies, AIS was ready and prepared to build the new entity a robust and beautiful new intranet on Office 365. When they realized, at the last minute, that they actually needed two new intranets (one for Gannett and one for TEGNA), built from scratch, and as soon as possible, we were ready for that too!
Azure API Management
Delaware-based company, Veroha, offers a nationwide, cloud-based e-notary solution. Veroha was founded to share the value and equity of the Delaware e-notary platform. Veroha’s business partner, Applied Information Sciences (AIS), built Delaware’s e-notary services in Azure API Management and deployed the solution to clients and third party technology providers. The modern API seamlessly integrates with document management and e-signature systems allowing e-notarization to happen quickly at high volume.
Avendra utilizes a collaborative social site, called MyAvendra, to manage day-to-day work flow, operations and more for approximately 10,000 users. However, the application was troublesome due to static content, which was difficult to manage, and resulted in low usage. AIS's experience with enhancing such applications provided us with the perfect platform to lead the charge in their efforts see begin to see a significant ROI on this application.
User Experience, WinJS
Answers.com needed a Microsoft partner that could upgrade their Windows 8 application to maximize the use of a variety of new 8.1 features. Expediency was of the utmost importance in this instance and based on our prior experience with Microsoft, they knew we were the best partner for the job. AIS upgraded Answers.com’s Windows 8.0 Store application to 8.1, meeting Answers.com goal of getting it done as quickly as possible. Our team also validated the application through the Microsoft DPE Windows 8 Partner Program to ensure adherence to all Windows 8.1 criterion.
Microsoft SQL Server
Oftentimes, the sales force is the customer’s first point of contact, and what better way to ensure higher sales volume than to make the process as seamless as possible for the prospective customer. We were able to provide our client with an automated method for providing customers a quote for insurance rates via a self-service web portal solution, while reducing company costs.
As part of a massive overhaul of its technology systems, our client underwent a large-scale modernization effort that focused on adopting and consolidating systems into new technology using Microsoft-centric software and hardware platforms. We created a consolidated automated underwriting system that will ultimately combine the existing underwriting components into one comprehensive system.
What started out as a plan to develop a 360 degree customer profile, and connect the silos between business units became the first step in creating a more customer-centric organization. The initiative will not only provide significant cost savings over their current systems, but provides a technology platform that will enable future business innovation for the company.
AIS previously developed and implemented a new player management system for the NFLPA, and now we’re working with the Trust to develop a website, available on multiple platforms, to maintain active engagement with former NFL players. We developed the site using Orchard 1.7.1 as the CMS platform allowing non-technical users to be able to manage every aspect of the website.
AIS developed a Windows 8 mobile application to ensure that one of the nation's leading insurance organizations would remain a competitive leader. Our client provides mobile native apps to its auto policyholders for policy servicing functionality. These mobile apps ran on the iOS (iPad and iPhone), Android, and Win7 phone platforms, and the organization needed a similar policy servicing functionality for the Windows 8 tablet platform.
AIS worked with the Kennedy Center to develop a customized solution that would produce a more efficient means of performing day-to-day operations, while reducing required man hours and adding capabilities like improved searches to added ROI through monetization of materials. The core goal of the project was to store an entire collection of digital archives, dating back to the 1920s, in SharePoint 2010.
AIS built a digital distribution platform to usher print publications like Rolling Stone into the digital age – by providing them with a turnkey solution to present their print magazine archives online, for viewing on high resolution-connected devices of all shapes and sizes. Our work with Rolling Stone and Bondi Digital Publishing is just one of the many examples of how we stay on the leading edge of technology to create new revenue streams for clients, in this case magazine publishers.

We approached our client with an envisioning service offering as the first phase of this project.

AIS is utilizing a cloud-based hosting solution via Amazon Web Services (AWS) for a new application that will help HRSI eliminate data redundancy. The AWS hosting option will also keep costs down without sacrificing performance and positioning for HIPAA compliance.
AIS built a digital distribution platform to usher publications like Vogue into the digital age – by providing them with a turnkey solution to deploy print magazine archives online for viewing on desktops, laptops and mobile devices. Vogue required a solution that could scale to archives with thousands of issues. The platform built by AIS consists of flexible, scalable website architecture with HTML5 and Silverlight magazine viewers that display exact replicas of the original print issues.
